And the winner is...........
Yesterday saw the Seasiders collect their runners up medals at cup final and presentation day at Frys.
After that they held the club presentation starting off with Clubman of the year, which was won by one vote. Adam Clark took the honour after his dedicated commitment to the club.
Next up was the golden boot award, which was won by one goal with player manager Rich Duffy scoring 17 goals.
Onto the big awards, Managers player. Littlesea had 3 managers through out the season and after consulting the 2 previous managers, Rich Duffy awarded the trophy to goalkeeper Luke Bodman who i believe is the first goalkeeper to win the award in Littlesea history.
Players player was next and this also was very close. One vote seperated the 3 contenders with Phil Knight taking the award to his surprise.
Rich Duffy created a new award for the club this season and it is the unsung hero award. This was awarded to Deryck Morris, for his commitment behind the scenes and his loyalty in watching as many Littlesea games as he could attend rain or shine. He was the deciding factor in me taking over the club because he is Mr Littlesea and is one of the nicest blokes i've ever met!
Congratulations to everyone on the season.
Welcome to Littlesea F.C.
The foundations of the club stretch back to 1999 when a group of friends formed and entered an eleven a-side football team into the Bristol & Wessex League, following a successful break at Littlesea Haven Holiday Park in Weymouth. With the support of club chairman Paul Waring, Littlesea have been able to develop into one of the most established and recognised names in local Sunday league football.
The ethos of the club stems from a strong cohort of friends who have been associated with the club from almost its inception. Most notably, we are proud to have two players from the ‘first’ day, striker Andy Morris and defender Daniel Waring, still actively involved in playing and day to day running of the club. A recent move into the Bristol Regional Sunday League has led to Littlesea enjoying successive promotions. With several summer signings and a solid pre-season programme, manager Ben Geracitano was confident in his teams’ ability to challenge both in the league and in cup competitions during the 2011/12 campaign. However mid season Ben stepped down as manager and Chairman James Worgan took control of the club until a suitable replacement was found.
1/3/12 Rich Duffy has been appointed manager for the remaining 5 games of the season.
